2021 Summer

Whitko Summer Central is a recreational environment designed for fun and new experiences! We have seven exciting opportunities to hang out with old friends, make new friends, create memories, and have fun together! If there is a cost associated with an activity, it is included on the schedule below. Unless otherwise stated on the schedule, we will meet each day at the Brownstone and then transport to our location together.   • Monday, June 7th: Fort Wayne Zoo ($15)
    • Leave at 9 am, return at 3 pm.
    • Bring money for food!
  • Monday, June 21st: Painting and Pastries
    • 1 pm - 3 pm at The Brownstone
  • Monday, June 28th: Cookout and Movie Night
    • 7 pm - 10 pm at Shawna's house!

  • Sunday, July 11th: Columbia City Aquatics Center ($5)
    • 12 pm - 5 pm
    • Bring money for snacks!
  • Sunday, July 25th: Wings and Game Night
    • 7 pm - 9 pm at South Whitley United Methodist Church.
    • Meet at the Church!
    • Video Games & Wings
  • Thursday, July 29th: BEACH TRIP to New Buffalo, MI
    • Leave 9 am, Return 7 pm.
    • Bring Money for two meals
    • Snacks Provided
  • Monday, August 2nd: Carol's Corner and Games
    • Meet at 12 pm
    • Bring money for food!

After-School Central is a program of The Center for Whitley County Youth, an award-winning youth center since 2005.
Supervised after-school program running September - May. Offering Homework Help, Adult Mentors, Positive Peer Environment, FREE healthy snacks, Fun & Games, and Art & Creativity Classes.


Typical Daily Schedule:

  • 3:15p Shuttle from Whitko Jr./Sr. HS drops students off
  • 3:15-3:30p FREE snacks/Free time
  • 3:30-3:45p Announcements/Group Game
  • 3:45-4:15p Homework Help
  • 4:15-4:45p Option Activity: art, creativity class, topical discussions
  • 4:45p Shuttle Option #1 arrives for Early Pick-Up
  • 4:45-5:45p Free time, Games, Food
  • 5:45p Clean-Up/Shuttle Option #2 arrives for Final Pick-Up
